When I had stepped out into the unknown, which I have a few times, I wish all my questions would line up alongside the answers I expected. But oh no! I find God instructs me on a "needs to know basis". I pray that He will prepare me for both open and closed doors, and that by His grace I' ll accept closed doors and still have the faith to go through open doors.
Abraham - We all know how God instructed him to leave his home town and go to Haran and finally to Canaan. The man had no idea what was ahead of him - all he knew was God was closing one door and opening another. He obeyed and walked away from the certain to the uncertain, from his comfort zone and security to the unknown.
When one door closes - say 'amen' and move on. Is it difficult to accept this? Yes it was for me. I weighed the consequences in all angles - the 'what if's were my constant questions to the father. I made sure it was God shifting things and not me. Eventually I had this peace which assusred me that the father was ok about my 'if's and 'buts'- it was my way of making sure He was in this and that I was not leaning on my own understanding. Sometimes God has to pull you out of something, if He has to, in order to start something new with you. Don't fight it and please don't throw yourself into tantrum with God. He knows what is best for you - allow Him to have His way. I learnt the hard way, but eventually I got the message. He wins all the time. Remember - The blessing of the Lord brings wealth and adds no sorrow to it'. Years later I can look back and say that the father definitely closed a certain door and opened another -a better one - a door no man could have opened except Him, thank you Lord.
Abraham did not let the comfort and security of his lifestyle stop him from walking into the plans God had for him. Can I say this - Don't grieve over what has to go, just rejoice over what is to come, for if that is God's divine plan, be rest assured what is coming is definitely going to be better than what you are leaving behind. When a door closes on you in future, remember who is at the other end waiting to usher you into another - be blessed and let me know how you get on when that time comes.

Stand - I trust you will.
I trust that you read my post last week. Want to take the opportunity to ask you - if you don't mind -what 'dark tunnels' are you going through at the moment? Is it poor health, financial difficulties, failing relationships, family issues, unemployment, drug / alcohol addiction etc. Remember what your maker advised- that the sincere agreement of two people praying together in His name - their request will be granted. I found that very helpful when I was going through my own personal 'dark tunnels' some time ago. I will sit down picturing myself sitting at His feet, when I found it difficult to pray as I would have wanted to, and asking that He sends people into my path who would sincerely stand with me in my darkness. I pray that the Lord will bring people we trust to stand with us to the end. Lord Ipray that you will disperse the darkness in our path releasing light, your light to bring the freedom needed. You alone are God, who can do what you alone can do. Lets encourage each other, if we don't, who will.
We must have a battle mindset - we are in it to win not to lose knowing who is on our side. Remember the 'tug of war'- whoevver is pulled across the centre line loses. Well I made sure it was not going to be me. How? I remebered that the battle had been won before it began and that's all I needed to know. Father, you said so and I am hanging on to that. There is always a whisper and a gentle reminder that He is in control.
What is your prayer? Is it for the wayward son or daughter to come home, the failing relationship / marriage to be restored, the financial situation to be sorted, devine healing for the sick, job situation? What have you been 'waking' the Father in the middle of the night about. Not that He is asleep - You know what I mean , but I sometimes come to the Father screaming as if He is deaf or asleep and can't hear me. After I have worn myself out, I drop to sleep. 'Child, all you needed to do was to be still and know that I am God'. Yes Lord - Please keep reminding me- thanks. I know it's tough sometimes, it ain't easy but our light shall breakforth and truly the glory of the Lord shall be our guard. When we come out, we can boldly say ' we are coming to this tunnel no more'
You know what daddy, I am exhausted, I think I need my beauty sleep. I can sleep and snore good tonight knowing someone is praying for me - I hope. You remember she promised she will be praying for me? I trust that she will not let me down. I know I can count on her in moments like this- Please daddy, wake her up to pray - she promised -Hmmmm.

Tug of War - Remember who is on your side
In the cold darkness of uncertainty and hopelessness, God always wants us to feel His presence guidance and assurance that He is near. Robert K. Hudnut, author of - Meeting God in the darkness -sums it rightly that - "It is a mystery how a God of light can live and work in the darkness as well". I can not comprehend this and personally find it unacceptable sometimes but as moments of my darkness seem to be passing and in a way coming to an end, I can uderstand how God has used this experience to draw me closer to Him. I was being encouraged to hold on tight, not to let go and that there is light at the end of the tunnel. It felt like a P U L L from both sides - who was going to win? I knew I was but when. I tell you, in moments like this you encounter Him in a very special kind of way. Dark 'tunnels' can be frightening, can be lonely, can be tiring, can be of course dark and the feeling of the enemy wanting you down and out is not something one would like to write home about. We can share with the trusted few, I mean the trusted few. I'ts not easy but pray that God brings them your way. We thank God for friends and families who stand and pray with and for us in our 'dark; moments - it's a delight when we are still in His presence knowing He is the burden bearer
If things are not going according to plan, whatever dark situation we might be going through, it can be frustrating and sometimes very difficult to hold on and in my particular dark period that I was going through, I had to continue telling myself, girl you are not alone in this - hold on tight, don't let go and just like the woman who held on to the hem of Jesus's garment for her dear life, and received what she came for. I really like that - this should encoureage all of us. This woman had gone through her dark tunnel for 12 years and when she saw the light at the end of this tunnel, who could stop her from receiving what she'd come for - no one, not even the discyples could stop her. What do you call that kind of attitude? It was her day of devine healing and she was not leaving without it -wow.
Be encouraged and remember who is on your side.

A chat with the Lord - A bit about my self
Lord you gave me 4 of your wonderful babies to look after - such a responsibility. I know I couldn,t have done it without you and I know you've got plans and purpose for each of them. I am gratetful and honoured that you made me part of the command to be fruitful and multiply - oh yes I did multiply alright -2 times 2 is the lot you gave me.
Lord you remember the days when things were so difficult I could almost predict the end from the beginning and it was obvious - you or nothing - you always saved the day. They pulled me here, they pulled me there they pulled me left, right and centre. Thank God they left me in the centre, at least you were there to catch me -you were in the centre of it all.
Anyway Lord you've got so many children so you know what I am talking about. By the way Lord, tell me your secret I will like to know how you do it - I mean how do you cope with so many children? Do you get time for yourself. In my case they will all leave home one day - HURRAY. With you, it is the other way round. You will want them all to come to you everyday. Don't you need a break? With you it will break your heart if they never came home to you- Hmm- with me it will break my heart if they never left home.
My love is the love that can't wait to let them go but your love is the love that will never let them go. Tell me, how do you do it? You never stop to amaze me. I am learning from you everyday, what a great teacher you are. Thank you for taking time to listen to me. Who else will listen to me like you do, I will be back when I have got more complaints about your babies-I can rest and smile now, see you, speak to you later - BYE
